Further reading also suggest, that in case of partially installed drives I should carryout the following:.

Checking with Windows Update, my system is up to date as of the date of this post and I have all drivers installed. Can you advice my how I install the drivers needed with the Xbox Wireless Adapter.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the USB adapter itself. Both the old and new USB dongle do not require any additional drivers or installation on Windows I’m not super familiar with the newer one, but the old one had a pairing light on it, is that at least visible when you plug it in that it is getting power and can actually pair, or does it appear that the adapter is not functioning at all?

I’m now beginning to suspect USB adapter may be faulty. Going to try it on a firends computer and see how it fairs. Sorry for the issue with the drivers. They all should be plug and play. Here is a troubleshoot guide for the Xbox wireless adapter.

Further reading also suggest, that in case of partially installed drives I should carryout the following: Go to your Device Manager. Click on the Driver tab. On the Driver tab, click the Uninstall button. On the confirmation window, check Delete the driver software for this device.

Once the device is back on, plug in the adapter. If the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows still does not install, follow all of the above steps thoroughly one more time. If this doesn’t work, your adapter needs to be replaced. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
